Iran, Total to continue cooperation: Nozari

TEHRAN, Apr. 22 (MNA) – Iran will continue its cooperation with the French oil company, Total SA, Iranian Oil Minister Gholamhossein Nozari said during his visit to Total’s pavilion at Iran’s international oil show in Tehran.

Total’s Managing Director for Middle East Projects Philippe Rochoux highlighted Iran’s giant oil and gas resources, adding that his company has implemented several oil and gas projects in Iran during past years, IRNA reported on Wednesday.

He further expressed hope that the existing cooperation between the Iranian Oil Ministry and Total SA would further boost.

Iran’s 14th International Oil, Gas, and Petrochemicals Exhibition kicked off on Tuesday in Tehran. More than 450 foreign companies from 34 countries and nearly 860 Iranian firms have taken part in the exhibition.

Total has a memorandum of understanding with the state-owned National Iranian Oil Company to develop Phase 11 of the huge South Pars field but the project has been overshadowed by haggling over contract terms, according to Reuters.

Seyfollah Jashnsaz, head of the National Iranian Oil Company said in March, “We are not happy with the work Total has done on Phase 11 in South Pars. Unfortunately this company has wasted time and our national project has been delayed”.
